New Delhi : Top-seeded Chinese Chun-Mei Ji and Sheng-Nan Sun fought back from a set-down to beat India’s Sunitha Rao and France’s Aurelie Vedy and clinch the doubles title of the $50,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament here Friday.
The Chinese pair rallied to beat second seeded Sunitha and Vedy 2-6, 6-2 (10-4) at the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association.
In the singles, giant-killer Belarussian Ekaterina Dzehalevich, continued her fine run overcoming the challenge of fifth seed Estonia’s Margit Ruutel 6-4,0-6, 7-5 to enter the final.
Dzehalevih will Saturday play fourth-seeded Belgian Yanina Wickmayer who outplayed Britain’s eighth seed Naomi Cavaday 6-1, 6-3.
