Wellington : The New Zealand government advised its citizens on Saturday to avoid all non-essential travel to Tibet, saying there was a high risk to security in the capital Lhasa, reported dpa.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said New Zealanders already in Lhasa should stay indoors, avoid areas where protests are taking place and leave the city when it was safe to do so.
The warnings followed reports that 10 people had been killed in anti-Chinese protests in Tibet.
