New Delhi : Former Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Akhand Pratap Singh, accused of amassing wealth beyond his known sources of income, Saturday moved a court here asking for permission to go abroad.
Singh was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last year and is currently out on bail.
The application was moved in the court of CBI Special Judge I.K. Kochar. The court has posted the matter for March 25.
According to prosecution, Singh owns 84 immovable properties in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand worth nearly Rs.2 billion.
He is also accused of forging the signatures of his dead father and a friend for transferring properties and routing financial transactions through several fictitious bank accounts.
