Rajkot : All agriculture market yards in Gujarat will remain closed Tuesday to protest the proposed union budget provision to tax market yards.
The Gujarat Marketing Bazaar Sangh, a federation of the state’s marketing yards, has given a call for closure and asked farmers not to bring their farm produce Tuesday to any yard in the state.
There are 72 market yards in the state including 24 in Saurashtra and two in Kutch. There are more than 1,122 registered market yards in the country.
