Mercury rising in north, northeast has rain

New Delhi : The northern plains saw another warm day Monday even as northeastern parts of the country witnessed rain.

Delhi is witnessing an unusually moderate spell with day’s high at 35 degrees Celsius and the low around 22 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office on its website said air cyclonic circulation over Haryana and neighbourhood is likely to cause isolated dust storm or thundershower over the northwest region, including Delhi, during the next few days from Monday. Delhi saw a partly cloudy Monday.

A western disturbance currently over north Pakistan is likely to cause scattered to fairly widespread rain over western Himalayan region Tuesday and decrease thereafter.

The northeastern parts of the country will continue to witness rain for the next couple of days till Wednesday. Guwahati Monday saw 27 mm of rainfall.
