Nepal to seal border with India for election

Kathmandu : The Nepal-India border would be sealed for particular period for security reason during the Constituent Assembly election slated for April 10, Nepali National News Agency RSS reported on Friday.

A meeting of Nepal-India Border Security held here on Thursday decided to ban movement in the border for 48 hours starting from April 9, Assistant Chief District Officer Raj Kumar Niraula told the RSS.

Security authorities from both countries will carry out strict check in the border so as to prevent the import of weapons and explosives to deter anti-election activities.

Security personnel of the two countries will cooperate in identifying suspicious persons with arm or in any criminal gangs and provide information to take punitive measures on criminals.
