New Delhi : India has offered $10 million to Bangladesh for the relief of those affected by a massive rain-triggered landslide earlier this month.
Making the offer, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed "deep sadness" at the loss of life and destruction of property in Chittagong, sources said here.
At least 125 people were killed while hundreds injured and rendered homeless due to the hillside mudslide in Chittagong and flooding in other parts of the country.
Bangladesh's foreign affairs adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury acknowledged the Indian offer of assistance.
"The Indian prime minister has offered an immediate assistance of $10 million for relief and rehabilitation of the disaster," Chowdhury said in Dhaka.
