Dubai charity to educate kids in developing countries

Dubai : Dubai based charitable organisation Dubai Cares has announced a plan for improving primary education in 12 developing countries, WAM news agency reported Thursday.

The charity made the announcement Wednesday. It said that programme details would be announced in the near future.

The countries chosen for the project are Bangladesh, Bosnia, Chad, Comoros Islands, Djibouti, the Maldives, Mauritania, Niger, Pakistan, Palestinian territories, Sudan and Yemen besides Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan.

Dubai Cares also announced a $6.7 million, two-year programme – to be executed by UNICEF – for helping more than 700,000 children in Sudan.

Dubai Cares has established itself as a leading non-profit humanitarian organisation. It is engaged with international aid agencies for developing primary education programmes across the world.
