Bhubaneswar : Orissa is in the grip of intense heat wave with the mercury crossing 41 degrees Celsius in parts of the state.
According to news reports, 10 people have died of heat-related reasons.
Jharsuguda town in western Orissa recorded the highest 43 degrees Celsius temperature Friday. The town witnessed 42.2 degrees Celsius Saturday.
The maximum temperatures recorded Saturday were in Bhubaneswar 39.4 degrees Celsius, Cuttack 40.5, Chandbali 39.6, Keonjhar 40.2, Sambalpur 41.2 and Hirakud 41.0 degrees Celsius, an official here of the Meteorological Department said.
