Jammu : A paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper shot and injured his officer and a colleague Monday before shooting himself dead near the Vaishno Devi shrine, about 50 km from here.
Police said constable Devinder of the 140 Battalion of the CRPF fired from his weapon and injured an inspector and another colleague near the cave shrine at around 10.30 a.m.
Devinder then shot himself dead, said the police. The injured CRPF men were airlifted to Jammu for treatment. Police said the reason for the shooting was under investigation.
