Chennai : The third edition of annual Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey is set to take off from Delhi Sunday.
The bikers will embark on a 2,500-km ride to Ladakh, climbing more than 4,500 m.
From Delhi the bikers will move to Chandigarh and then to Raison Keylong. They will then take the Rohtang Pass route to Keylong Sarchu and Baralacha La, which is at a height of 4,892 m above the sea level.
The rally will enter the Ladakh sector taking the Rumtse-Leh road, at a height of about 3,500 m.
The return journey is through the Pangi Valley, Chamba, Dalhousi and Amritsar, and reach Delhi July 7.
The event, organised by Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer, has received enthusiastic response from bikers.
Royal Enfield director Anupam Thareja, who is also managing the event, said the bikers this year will also make a goodwill visit to the India-Pakistan border checkpost at Wagah.
