Kuwait : Fourth constituency candidate, Mohammad Al-Mutairi, called on Tuesday on the government to put female citizens married to non-Kuwaitis “under the favorable light and provide them will all services they view necessary.” Al-Mutairi said in a press statement that a considerable number of Kuwaiti female citizens who are married to men of other nationalities are facing rough living conditions due to high prices and rents of real-estate plots, appealing to the government to grant additional allowances to this segment of the society and list them among the nationals eligible to apply for housing.
Al-Mutairi asked why the government is not helping such families, including stateless persons who are suffering from severe living conditions, namely health and educational services? He said salaries of Kuwaiti women who are married to non-Kuwaitis are not enough to secure living requirements, calling on the government to reconsider and resolve the decade’s long issue.
He stressed on the importance of securing state houses to those who are divorced, widowed and married to other nationalities as is the case in the other Gulf countries — and dealing with this issue transparently.
The fourth electoral district compromises 18 residential areas with 9,3710 voters.
