He said the guilty officers will not be forgiven. Afzal Amannullah, Principal Secretary of Bihar state Minority Welfare Department, has been assigned the task to investigate into the case. After receiving his final report, the government will take strong action against those found guilty, announced the chief minister.

The chief minister said the government is very serious on this issue and will ensure that the fund allocated by the Central government for the post-matriculation scholarship for minorities does not lapse in future.

The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) had asked five thousand applications for post-matriculation scholarship. Twenty four thousand students in the state had submitted applications for this scholarship to the state minority welfare department but these applications could not be sent to NCM in time. Due to the negligence of some officers of the state minority welfare department, thousands of needy students may not be able to get the scholarship.
