Indian too good for Pakistan in Jr Davis Cup

By IANS,

New Delhi : India continued their fine form ín the Asia Oceania Junior Davis Cup tennis tournament and they outclassed Pakistan 3-0 at DLTA Complex here Tuesday.

Saurabh Singh, who gave a powerful performance Monday against Singapore, carried his touch against Samir Iftikhar and wrapped up the first singles 6-1, 6-1 in only 48 minutes.

Yuki Bhambhri, playing with confidence, then got the better of Heera Ashiq 6-0, 6-4 in the second singles.

Yuki raced through the first set in just 24 minutes, but in the second he committed far too many errors. Just when Ashiq looked like taking it to a decider, world junior no 5 Bhambri recovered in time to take the set and the tie.

In the doubles, Yuki and Saurabh found little opposition from Ashiq and Faizan Khurram and won 6-2, 6-0.

India next meet Thailand Wednesday.
