Saudi official: Iran-Saudi security cooperation satisfactory

Tehran : Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia in Security Affairs said at the end of his 3-day visit to Iran before departing at Mehrabad Airport, two countries’ security cooperation is quite satisfactory.

According to IRNA Political Desk reporter, Ahmad bin-Muhammad al-Salem, who was being seen off by his Iranian counterpart Abbas Mohtaj, in response to a question by IRNA evaluated the results of his visit with Iranian officials as “positive.”

Al-Salem added, “We had the chance to pave the path for implementation of the security agreements signed between Riyadh and Tehran within the past seven years.”

He said, “We also reached good agreements on deportation of the accused and the criminals.”

Further elaborating on the matter, the Saudi Deputy Minister added, “The Joint Security
Committee of the two countries during these three days meanwhile agreed to survey the draft of a new agreement on deportation of the accused at the courts of justice of the two countries, so that the executive phases of it would be surveyed during the next session of that Committee.”

Al-Salem finally reiterated that there were also talks on campaign against various types of crimes in the region and it was agreed that both sides would spend their utmost efforts aimed at improving the level of security cooperation at regional scale.”
