Ten candidates withdraw from Kuwait”s 2008 parliamentary race

Kuwait : Ten more candidates running in the upcoming parliamentary polls have dropped out of the race, bringing the total number of running candidates to 326 out of the original number of 380.

According to the Interior Ministry’s Department of Elections’ Affairs, Khalid Salman Buhamad and Munawer Salman Al-Azmi withdrew from the first constituency.

Six withdrawals were made from the fourth constituency, including Barrak Al-Noun, Hussein Al-Saeedi, Fahad Al-Mutairi, Fahad Mohammad Dhaifallah Sharar, Mirshed Al-Mutairi, and Hilal Al-Enizi.

And in the fifth constituency, two candidates dropped out: Duhaili Al-Hajri and Saleh Al-Otaibi.

The deadline for the candidates’ withdrawal from the electoral campaign is May 9.
