On one side, police and administration confiscate their animals by filing false cases against them and on the other, miscreants and anti-social elements create hindrances in transporting animals, he said. He told him that his community was being exploited because of their illiteracy and for the same reason they were also unable to raise their voice against this exploitation.
Sirajuddin Qureshi also drew the minister’s attention towards the problems confronting common Muslims and demanded immediate implementation of Sachar Committee recommendations related to his ministry, stressing on proportionate representation of Muslim youths in police and forces. He also put forth the issue of biased attitude of police and intelligence agencies towards Muslim youths. Qureshi urged the minister to constitute an independent investigation agency to inquire into the accusations of terrorism against Muslims.
