Mumbai : A four-year-old girl was raped by a goldsmith in Kurla in Central Mumbai late Friday night.
The police have arrested the goldsmith Badshah, 23.
According to Inspector Balasaheb Jadhav, Badshah had lured Deepika (name changed) with chocolates and biscuits into his house Friday evening and raped her.
Her mother, Gayatri Devi, saw bloodstains on her clothes and questioned her. Then she complained of severe pain and narrated the incident to her mother.
On learning about it, Deepika’s father, Kanhaiyalal Prajapati, and some neighbours beat up Badshah and dragged him to the police station.
Jadhav told IANS: “He told us that he was sexually attracted towards the girl and had committed the offence.”
