Berlin : German Chancellor Angela Merkel reaffirmed Saturday her country’s wish to expand and boost relations with Russia.
In a press statement, just a few days before the scheduled visit by the new Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev, she said the two countries enjoyed strong friendly and strategic relations.
She said the two countries would be able to execute this “important” expansion of relations, adding that her talks with the Russian president would include the boosting ties and their development.
Other topics that will be discussed include Kosovo and the future of Serbia, the G8’s expectations on energy, environment protection, climate issues, and issues pertaining to Africa.
