Kanpur : Six people were killed and three received serious injuries when the van in which they were travelling collided with a truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district Saturday, police said.
“Out of the nine people in the Maruti van, six died on the spot. The accident took place in the morning in Kanpur’s Mandhana locality,” police officer Jitendra Singh told IANS.
He added the truck driver managed to escape from the spot.
The injured were admitted to a hospital in the city.
