India announces more relief for quake affected China

New Delhi : India Tuesday announced that it would dispatch additional aid to earthquake victims in neighbouring China.

“The first IL-76 Air Force aircraft with 200 tents will leave for Chengdu in China from Indias Northeastern city of Guwahati on June 6 and another aircraft with 200 tents will leave the next day,” Indo Asian News Service reported, quoting an Indian Defence Ministry statement.

The Indian Air Force has so far carried over 150 tonnes of relief material to Chengdu on seven IL-76 aircraft.

India had announced aid worth five million usd to quake-affected China.
