TOI resident editor, scribe get anticipatory bail

By IANS,

Ahmedabad : The Gujarat High Court Thursday granted anticipatory bail to The Times Of India, Ahmedabad Resident Editor Bharat Desai and a special correspondent who are facing sedition charges filed by newly-appointed city Police Commissioner O.P. Mathur.

Mathur filed three complaints against TOI’s Desai, Special Correspondent Prashant Dayal as well as a photographer of Gujarat Samachar.

The police commissioner felt offended after the two ran a series of articles portraying him in bad light imputing his underworld mafia links. The articles questioned Mathur’s integrity and said the city was not safe in his hands.
