Kabul : Eight Afghan policemen and 17 Taliban insurgents were killed in a conflict in Afghanistan's western Farah province, the US-led coalition forces said Sunday.
Several militants attacked the Bakwa district centre Saturday afternoon and the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) reached the centre at night to assist in providing security, a statement by the coalition forces said.
"Seventeen insurgents were killed in action and eight Afghan policemen also died," it added.
The insurgents also burnt four police vehicles.
