Lucknow : The Lucknow University has temporarily scrapped the affiliation of over half a dozen business and management colleges here and admission to about 500 seats in these colleges has been blocked, an official said Wednesday.
The Uttar Pradesh government has directed all the state universities to ensure that norms for providing affiliation to degree colleges are followed by them.
“The admission process in these colleges has also been stalled. Majority of these colleges offer BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) and other undergraduate courses that are highly popular among the students,” Manoj Dixit, Lucknow University’s spokesperson, told IANS.
As per the norms, these colleges had not renewed their agreement with the university to offer business and management courses. This forced the university to stall the admission process, he said.
