Israel reopens Gaza crossings

Gaza : Israel reopened on Sunday the commercial crossings linking it with the Gaza Strip after a few days of closure.

Israeli Yedioth Internet news said the crossings were opened following series of contacts between Egyptian and Israeli security officials.

The reopening of crossings would allow passage of 80 trucks loaded with goods, equipment into Strip, Israel said. Despite repeated Palestinian violations of the agreed upon truce, Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai decided Saturday that the Gaza crossings will be reopened on Sunday, according to the report.

The Nahal Oz fuel terminal was reopened on Friday to allow the transfer of fuel to Gaza in a limited capacity.
