New Delhi : National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) chairman Ashok Kumar was Monday appointed secretary in the newly-created Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) under the ministry of chemicals and fertilisers.
Kumar, a 1974 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, will take over his new assignment soon, said a government statement.
DoP will be responsible for promotion and co-ordination of drug research.
It will also deal with various issues in the pharmaceutical sector and also issues related to NPPA, including price monitoring.
