Ranchi : At least 12 children were injured when roof of a school building collapsed Thursday in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district, police said.
The incident took place in the Aadarsh Rajkiya middle school in the Ramgarh sub-division of Hazaribagh, some 70 km from here Thursday.
Incessant rainfall caused the collapse, police said.
There were about 35 students in the classroom when the roof collapsed. The injured children have been admitted to a local hospital. The condition of three of them is said to be serious.
The school was constructed some 50 years ago. The school authorities said that they had drawn attention of the district administration several times regarding the condition of the building but nothing was done to repair it.
