Sana’a : Minister of Foreign Affairs Abu Bakr al-Qirbi has confirmed Yemen’s interest to activate permanent consultation mechanisms among Arab countries and common coordination among them regarding serving Arab nation issues and boosting aspirations of their people for security, stability and development.
During his meeting with Arab countries’ ambassadors to Yemen Wednesday, al-Qirbi said that “this meeting comes to acquaint the ambassadors with all the internal, regional and international developments in the framework of efforts being exerted by President Ali Abdullah Saleh to bring together all Arab parties and reach reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas movements or the transitional federal government of Somalia.”
Al-Qirbi reviewed Yemen’s efforts to overcome traces of rebellion in some regions of the Saada governorate and tackle issues pertaining to retirees and land in the southern governorates, terrorist acts and threats by al-Qaeda which requires strengthening
security cooperation among Arab countries and exchanging information in this regard.
He made it clear that negative impacts serve terrorists, endanger security and damage stability and development.
Al-Qirbi also reviewed parliamentary election issues which is to be held next April and the existing political movements to embody democratic practice in Yemen.
He pointed out to the dialogue going on among the People’s General Congress (PGC) and Joint Meeting Parties to ensure adapting suitable security climate for constitutional merit on its term.
He said: “There is an agreement among PGC and JMP on various major issues on the dialogue table”.
On their side, the dean of diplomatic corps in Sana’a, Omani Ambassador Abdullah Bin Hamad al-Badi noted the importance of such meetings to avoid false explanations and get information from its official sources.
