Pakistan’s attorney general resigns, successor appointed

Islamabad : The attorney general of Pakistan Malik Abdul Qayyum has submitted his resignation here on Wednesday, private Geo TV channel reported.

Latif Khosa, a senator belonging to Pakistan People’s Party, has been appointed as the new attorney general, said the Geo report.

Malik Qayyum is a former judge and was appointed by then-President Pervez Musharraf as attorney general in August last year.

The attorney general is the chief legal advisor of the Pakistani government.
