Beijing : The US basketball team beat Spain 118-107 to take gold in Beijing Games here Sunday.
The so-called redeem team delivered the promised gold after the disappointment of only winning bronze four years ago.
The Americans were unbeaten throughout the tournament. Earlier Argentina, who beat Italy for Gold in Athens 2004, saw off Lithuania 87-75 to win the bronze.
