New Delhi: Not Islam and Muslims but the country will be in peril if leaders of all sections of the society did not control terrorism today, said speakers at a national convention on ‘Terrorism: Causes and Prevention’ held on 29th May in New Delhi.
It terrorism could not be checked, peace, security and national integration will be in danger said speakers at the convention organized by the Islamic Peace Foundation at India Islamic Cultural Centre.
Addressing the audience, secretary of Muslim Personal Law Board Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani expressed his annoyance over targeting Muslims in the country in wake of terrorist attack, he said sarcastically.
In his address to the convention, chairman of Delhi Minority Commission Kamal Farooqui said real terrorism is the killing of peaceful citizens in Iraq and Afghanistan on the pretext of WMDs. He said sometime earlier, secret agencies like CIA and KGB were held responsible for unrest in any country but now they have been replaced by Muslims.
General secretary of Markazi Jamiat Ulama Hind Maulana Fuzail Ahmad Qasimi said it has been an objective of the government to hold Muslims responsible for every act of terrorism. He accused all political parties of the country for this trend, adding that conventions and seminars will not serve the purpose, instead other democratic means like jail bharo movement will have to be adopted. He held the police and the government responsible for communalizing situations in the country.
Eminent Supreme Court lawyer Wasi Ahmad Nomani said there is only one reason behind terrorism and it is tyranny and injustice.
