Mumbai, India : Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has replied to the ‘strongly-worded’ letter from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue of anti-north Indian campaign by MNS chief Raj Thackeray.

“The Chief Minister has sent his reply to the Prime Minister’s letter”, Chief Secretary Johnny Joseph told PTI without disclosing the contents of the letter.

During the union cabinet meeting on Thursday, Prime Minister had also asked union Home Minister Shivraj Patil to convey the “sense of the cabinet” to the state government.

There was a demand in the cabinet asking for Raj Thackeray’s arrest and judicial inquiry into the killing of two youths from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
