Ranchi : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said MNS President Raj Thakeray and his men should be charged with sedition.
“In a country where everyone has the right to stay and work anywhere he wants, their (Raj Thakeray and MNS activists) actions and statements have repercussion in other places…Such elements should be charged with sedition,” Kumar told reporters here on Friday.
He replied in the affirmative when asked whether President’s Rule should be imposed in Maharashtra state following the attacks on north Indians.
Expressing surprise over the shooting down of Rahul Raj in the bus, the JDU leader asked why the police did not apprehend him when he flashed the revolver.
“He should have been arrested and interrogated, so that things could have been clear. There should be a CBI probe into this particular incident, and a judicial probe into the entire sequence of events.
“We have met the prime minister and placed our demands…But the way things are going it is quite evident that they don’t have the willingness to curb such elements indulging in anti-national activities,” Kumar said.
Citing constitutional provisions that a citizen is free to choose his dwelling and employment place, Kumar sought to remind the MNS that money in Mumbai had come from various sources. “What if it is stopped, he asked.
