Patna: The Phulwari Sharief locality of Patna was in darkness since last night as the Tranperfromer had caught fire due to short circuit. What made the matter worse was that the hurried made replacement too burnt fire as it was not able to cope with the load too.

Angry local residents approached the local JDU MLA from Phulwari Sharief and Bihar food and consumer protection minister Shyam Rajak, in the evening. But he is said to have told the protesters that he will see the matter tomorrow.

Residents of New Millat colony blocked the national highway

The residents of New Millat colony, Sector 2, Phulwari Sharief then came out on road and blocked the national highway in evening for some hours forcing local administration to act in haste. The power could be restored only by late night.

This year the country seems to be grappling with acute power shortage as there appears to be no respite from summer heat due to delayed monsoon in most parts of the country. From Delhi to Patna we are getting reports of power cuts for hours in many colonies.

What is making matter worse is that it’s the holy month of Ramazan and people find it more difficult to cope with heat and darkness at night.
