WPI delegation visits riot effected area of Atali village near Ballabhgarh; demand action against culprits

New Delhi: A delegation of Welfare Party of India (WPI) led by Sajeed K, national secretary, visited the riot-hit village of Atali in Ballabgarh (Faridabad) in Haryana and met the victims and demanded strict action against the culprits.

Members of the delegation visited Badshah Khan (BK) Hospital where several injured victims are being treated. They also visited the Ballabgarh police station, where they met police officials and also the riot affected people who have taken refuge in large numbers,” a release from the media coordinator, WPI, said here.

Expressing anger at the culprits, the delegation declared ‘heart and soul’ support to the victims and demanded from the police and administration to take strict action against the culprits. “The members discussed the situation with the victims and tried to find out all the facts that led to the communal riot and assured the people all possible assistance they can provide,” the release said.

Sajeed Khalid, national secretary of Welfare Party of India (WPI) said that “It is very clear that Muslims are targeted at Atali village. They burnt their houses, vehicles and cash assets, the role of police is like helping of culprits, neither any one arrest till this time.”

“We demand immediate action against culprits and lodge the FIR against Babulal, SHO of Chhasi police station. Haryana government must constitute a special enquiry team to expose the conspiracy behind this riot. Compensation too needs to be paid immediately to compensate the loss of villagers. Secular forces and authorities need to be cautious about prevention of such unfortunate incidents,” the release added.
