Muslims organisations issue advisory for Eid ul Adha

 New Delhi: Prominent Muslim organizations, religious leaders and scholars have issued an eight-point advisory  ‘dos and don’ts’, to the community to ensure that Eid ul Adha, popularly known as Baqrid that falls on August 22nd 2018 in India passes off peacefully, without any unpleasantness.

The eight-point advisory, ahead of a festival where Muslims offer either a goat/lamb/cattle as a symbolic sacrifice in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), has asked Muslims to:

 1.  Avoid streets and public places for carrying out the sacrifice,
2. Hold slaughters jointly at a common place;
3. Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene;
4. Not give chance by your actions and behaviour for any kind of complaint to your neighbours especially those belonging to other faiths;
5. Form a committee of some senior and serious citizens to keep an eye on the situation and ensure that the whole process of qurbani passes off smoothly under their supervision;
6. To avoid spreading rumours
7. Not to break the law under any circumstances
8. Keep in touch with the local administration and draw their attention towards maintaining law and order in the area
