Baghdad : Iraqi foreign minister Hoshyar Zebari is to lead a high powered delegation for a visit to Cairo early Jan 2008 to revitalize the Egyptian-Iraqi cooperation and bolster relations between the two countries.
In a statement to reporters Dec 29 2007, the Iraqi Foreign Undersecretary Labid Abbawi said, Zebari will hold talks with Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak dealing with a plan of action for joint cooperation within the context of a long- range strategic planning.
President Mubarak and his Iraqi couterpart Jalal Talabani agreed in Cairo last Nov to set up a joint committee for strategic cooperation and political consulting to be co-chaired by the two sides’ Foreign Ministers Zebari and Ahmed Abul Gheit.
