Islamabad : Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf Friday morning narrowly escaped as anti-aircraft rounds fired by suspected Islamic militants missed his plane, media here reported.

The rounds were fired from a house near Chaklala military airbase in Rawalpindi, when Musharraf's plane took off for the flood affected southern city of Turbat in Balochistan province, ARY news channel said.

Police found two anti-aircraft guns fixed at the roof of a house.

Several rounds of the guns were also seized. "One of the guns was heavy and very sophisticated, similar to those used by Pakistani military," the news channel said citing unidentified sources.

The militants had vacated the house before the police raid.

However, Pakistan's military spokesman dismissed the reports. "These are mere speculations," Major General Waheed Arshad said.
