Abohar : A probe has been ordered into the change of lease for historic Panjpeer mazars by Razia Sultana, Chairperson of Punjab Waqf Board.

The mazars located on the outskirts of the sub-divisional town and recorded statements of the warring factions has been visited by a three member team including Sheikh Azad Hasan and Wakil Musa.

The board officials had executed lease deed in his favour on 28th May 2007 by receiving a donation of Rs 2.65 lakhs for 2007-08 plus 50,000 as donation, said Mohinder Singh, in a supporting affidavit.

He has claimed that in connivance with previous lessee Bool Chand, rent controller Nazir Ahmad and peon Maqbool Ahmad tried to cancel the lease deed to issue a new one to him.

Bool Chand has executed an affidavit in favour of the Bishnoi Community for the use of 32 Kanals as cremation ground whereas the land actually owned by the Waqf Board and no lessee had the right to sublet it, Mohinder has claimed.

Bool Chand has refused all allegations against him framed by Mohinder.
