Islamabad : Seven people were killed and more than 20 injured Monday when a bus overturned on a motorway on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital, officials and hospital sources said.
"The accident occurred when the bus veered off the road after its driver lost control due to drowsiness," a duty officer of the National Highways and Motorway Police said.
Six people died at the scene while rescuers took the injured to a medical facility in the capital. One of the injured died in hospital.
Authorities feared the death toll might rise as doctors described the condition of at least five of the injured people as critical.
