Mumbai: “It is an act of terror, no religion including Islam permits it and the perpetrators of the act aim to break the Indian nation in to religious lines,” said Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Al-Qasmi, president of Assam United Democratic Front (AUDF). Expressing his anguish over the Bomb Blast at Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti’s Shrine on Thursday evening (10 October) Maulana Ajmal explicitly condemned the deplorable terror act and offered condolence to the families of those lost their lives or are injured laying in the hospital during this very last days of Ramadhanul Mubarak.

Maulana Ajmal who is also the president of Assam State Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind said that the obvious target of such attacks is to instigate chaos in the country, create mistrust between two major religious communities of India- Hindu and Muslim. It is the duty of government of India to catch-hold of the real culprits, expose them and severely punish them. He strongly cautioned the police and the national media not to hurry towards any conclusion while identifying the criminals. From Delhi Jama Masjid to Makkah Masjid of Hyderabad including those blasts in Parbhani and Jalna Masajid of Maharashtra there appears to be a planned network working behind. It is our investigating network which should honestly find out who can be the real beneficiary if this vibrant and united nation got divided in religious lines, pointed out Maulana Ajmal.

Maulana Badruddin Ajmal Al-Qasmi also expressed dissatisfaction over police actions in the earlier cases of blasts in Muslim’s religious places especially in Malegaon and cited example of blasts at Nanded. He questioned why Nanded Blasts, the cases of explosive recovery from Mumbai and other places of Maharashtra are not taken in to consideration in line with blasts in Muslims religious places? He said, “Several Muslims organizations including Jamiat Ulama of Malegaon got warning letters to see their religious places are bombed and very recently a report in Urdu press reads that certain anti national elements warned to destroy Mahim Shrine of Mumbai, not taking such warnings seriously, police is just greatly endangering the entire Nation”. It helps the real culprits move freely and strike again and again. He said there can be so many possibilities of blasts in Temples, Mosques and Gurdawaras; police should take all of them honestly and crosscheck them before coming to a conclusion.

AUDF president Maulana Ajmal also appealed to the Muslim community to maintain peace and harmony. He said, “It is our country and we all have a responsibility to defeat this anti national menace unitedly”, he said “please remain watchful, maintain peace and calm in all circumstances”. Eidul Fitr and Hindu religious congregation are together this year, everybody should be positive towards other sentiments while protecting the unique unity and integrity of our great nation- India, he said.
