The blast that killed 3 people occurred when people were taking tradition meal of iftar for opening their Ramadan fast.

Mr. Rasheed Ahmed, President of IMC -USA expressed caution and concern at the trend by police and state apparatus in drawing hasty and politically profitable conclusions out of this tragedy. “Paradoxically, the law enforcement authorities that are clueless till these blasts happen don’t take much time after the blasts to pinpoint the blame on specific Muslim outfits in an attempt to hide their intelligence failure” he said.

The law enforcement agencies across India are under increasing pressure to mend their ways following recent exposés of torture, brutality, fake police encounter killings of “Islamic terrorists” and extraction of fake confessions. “We hope that the police will do a full and honest investigation and nail down the actual culprits behind this heinous crime, rather than scapegoat poor and innocent civilians and extract fake confessions” said Rasheed Ahmed.

IMC -USA also urged the National Human Rights Commission to intervene immediately in these investigations and ensure that due process is followed and the true culprits are brought to justice.
