Istanbul, Turkey : Havana Provincial Administration Council Vice President Luis Abreu participated in a debate with Turkish architects and local politicians, about public infrastructure and municipal government managing.
Abreu spoke about his experiences on public works and housing construction, and shared his points of view with other participants, including Inci Bespinar, vice mayor of Istanbul’s municipality of Kadik.
Abreu held a similar meeting in the Turkish capital some days ago, fulfilling an invitation by Ankara’s Architect Chamber, and a visit to Kadik, to learn about some of the programs in progress has been scheduled for Monday.
He was satisfied for the activities and recalled the exchanges between Cuban and Turkish municipalities. He also highlighted the brotherhood between the cities of Ankara and Havana.
He pointed out that the samples of solidarity between Cuba and Turkey will also extend to the 15th Meeting of Cooperation and Solidarity of the City Councils with Havana that will take place in the Cuban capital in November, and in which 30 representatives will participate for the Turkish side.
In spite of the fact that the social and economic realities in Cuba and Turkey are different, Abreu highlighted the possibilities of analyzing their working systems from a technical and scientific point of view. Asked about the experience of renewing old Havana, he regarded it as a very positive, and said many of the achievements in this sphere are beginning to be applied to the rest of the municipalities.
