Sudan’s President, first veep, affirm keenness to consolidate there partnership

Khartoum : Sudan’s President Omer Al-Bashir and his First Vice-President, Salva Kiir, have affirmed their keenness to enhance the relation between the two partners through constructive dialogue.

They also pledged to work towards consolidating the partnership between the president’s National Congress and Kiir’s Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) to implement the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) which they signed in 2005 to end decades of fighting in the southern Sudan.

This came during a meeting between President Al-Bashir and First Vice-President Kii at the premises of the Council of Ministers here Sunday.

They also deliberated at the meeting on the recent visit of President Al-Bashir to Libya and the situation of the current negotiations in Sirte, Libya, between the government and armed movements of Darfur.
