US negotiator Assistant US Secretary of State Christopher Hill said he was hopeful of progress with a view to reaching an agreement at planned multi-lateral talks.

The US is hoping Pyongyang will disable its nuclear weapons by the end of the year. “With denuclearisation anything is possible,” Hill said.

If successful, negotiations will resume in Beijing later this month involving all six working party groups of the US, North and South Korea, Japan, China and Russia.
