Algiers : Senegalese Prime Minister Hajibou Soumare has described Iran as a big country with remarkable abilities and Dakar wants to expand ties with Tehran.
In a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Dakar Jahanbakhsh Hassanzadeh Saturday, Soumare praised Iran’s scientific and technological progress.
“I have called on cabinet ministers to work for developing relations with Iran.”
Expressing pleasure over the friendly ties and noting satisfaction with the good trend of expanding ties and progress on mutual agreements between the two countries, he underlined the role of joint economic commissions on expansion of cooperation.
Referring to the importance of exchanging senior delegations between Iran and Senegal, Soumare expressed desire to visit Iran.
The ambassador, for his part, presented a report on growing trend of ties and advancement on oil cooperation, electricity transfer projects and establishment of an automobile manufacturing plant (Samand) in Senegal.
Referring to the Iranian companies’ abilities, the ambassador called for Iran’s participation in developing projects.
Hassanzadeh expressed hope that by holding the third joint economic commission the bilateral ties can be promoted more and more.
