Iraqi Green Zone Raided

By Prensa Latina

Baghdad : The Iraqi resistance fired a rain of missiles on the fortified Green Zone, host of the US and British embassies and the Iraqi government offices.

The Police confirmed the explosion of five or six missiles but could not specify the area of impact, extent of the damage or if there were victims, adding that the rebels have renewed their attacks on the area.

The US reported two men killed by roadside bombs during separate patrolling missions in north Baghdad and Al Anbar province.

The incidents rose US dead count for March to 37 and to 4,011 from the beginning of the invasion and occupation of Iraq on March 2003 plus over 30,000 wounded and thousands physically and mentally impaired.

Combats in the past six days in Basra and Sadr City, in Baghdad, concluded with Monday’s withdrawal of the Mahdi militias, followers of cleric Moqtada al Sadr.

The Interior Ministry says Al Sadr gave orders Sunday to withdraw after fierce clashes with the local and foreign troops that left more than 200 dead, although other sources claim 320.
