Ramallah : Israel has threatened the Hamas movement with consequences after two Israelis were killed in an attack by Palestinian resistance on the Nahal Oz military post in east Gaza.
Israeli Deputy Defence Minister Matan Vilnai said Thursday that Israel will react strongly and “settle the score” with Hamas. Israel, he said, would choose the time and place for reprisal.
Islamic Jihad’s Quds Brigades, Fatah’s Mujahedeen Battalions, and the Popular Resistance Committees claimed joint responsibility for the attack Wednesday.
Israel filed a formal complaint with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon over the incident, Israeli security sources said.
