Damascus : Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem has held discussions with Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Karen Abu Zayd on projects fulfilled by UNRWA in Syria in the service of the Palestinian refugees.

Talks during the meeting Thursday dealt with the ongoing preparations for holding the annual regional meeting of donors due in Syria in June.

Abu Zayd expressed appreciation of the big efforts exerted by Syria to help the Palestinian refugees to ensure their basic needs of care and services.

Deputy Foreign Minister Fayssal al-Mikdad attended the meeting.

“Talks with Minister al-Moallem concentrated basically on the issue of Palestinian refugees in Syria and Syrian good efforts that help the refugees live in a better situation,” Abu Zayd said in a statement to SANA after the meeting.

She added that Syria cooperates with UNRWA in all its programmes aiming at activating the youth capabilities in the Palestinian camps.
