Vladivostok : Seven people were injured in a brawl that broke out between Russian and Chinese students in Vladivostok on Tuesday, Russia’s Itar-Tass news agency reported Wednesday.
The brawl occurred near the State University of Economics and Services in the downtown area following a heated argument, which later turned into fist fighting using knives.
Quoting the Russian news agency’s report, approximately 40 students were involved, and four of them, including one Chinese student received out-patient treatments.
Meanwhile, two Russian students from the Vladivostok State University of Economics and Services, and two Chinese students from the Far-Eastern State University of Technology were hospitalized.
The brawl came to halt after the intervention by the university’s security service and the police that helped avoid more serious consequences.
The police detained the firebrands but their names are kept confidential.
A criminal case citing charges with hooliganism has been instituted.
